Brief introduction of EPS power supply

EPS (EmergencySystem) is a kind of emergency power supply device to allow short-term power outages, mainly for high-rise buildings in the city emergency lighting, fire fighting facilities, particularly important load, especially in solving electricity or only one road, second road lighting electric power lack, instead of a generator set consisting of second power supply or use in third power supply when the occasion, can receive very good results. Because EPS is in a "sleep" state when the electricity market is normal, EPS is officially put into operation only when the city electricity is cut off, so the host life is very long. The EPS power produced by some manufacturers can last up to 20 years. EPS can adapt to harsh environment, such as basement, distribution room or even building shaft. It can also be installed near the emergency load location and reduce the power supply line.

For some power utilities, such as fire pumps and fans, EPS can be directly connected to the motor, and after frequency conversion, it will enter the normal running state and save the motor's soft start and control box. The emergency power supply of standard EPS emergency power supply is 1H (with time delay interface), it can be long and short, and the application range is wide. Brief introduction of UPS power supply

UPS uninterruptible power supply is a kind of constant voltage and constant frequency uninterruptible power supply with energy storage device and inverter as the main component. Its main function is to supply a reliable and uninterrupted power supply to the computer network system or other power electronic devices through the UPS system.

When the electricity input is normal, UPS will supply the load after the power supply is stabilized. At this point, the role of UPS is equivalent to an AC voltage regulator, and it also supplies power to the internal storage part. When the power interruption (outage), UPS immediately the machine stored electric energy to supply 220V alternating current to the load by the method of inverse transformation, the load to maintain normal working and protect the load of software and hardware are not damaged, so that the entire network data is not due to outages caused by loss of data. According to its working principle, power supply can be divided into three types: backup, online and online interactive.

The backup UPS is usually in the state of battery charging. The advantages of the backup UPS power supply are: high efficiency, low noise, and relatively low price. It is mainly applied to the occasion of small wave and low power supply quality, and is suitable for family use.

However, the switching time of this UPS is very short, generally between 2 and 10ms, while the switch power supply of the computer itself can maintain 10ms when the power fails, so the personal computer system generally does not cause problems due to the switching time. Therefore, it is not suitable for the key, power supply uninterrupted place. The backup UPS can only last several minutes to dozens of minutes, mainly giving you time to backup data and finish your work as soon as possible, and its price is relatively low. For example, individual family users can be equipped with a small backup UPS.

Online UPS: this UPS keeps its inverter working. First, it transforms the external AC into DC through the circuit, and then converts the direct current to the high quality sine wave AC power through the high quality inverter. The main function of the online UPS in power supply is voltage stabilizing and preventing wave interference. A backup DC power supply (battery group) is used to supply power to the inverter. Since the inverter has been working all the time, there is no problem of switching time, so it is suitable for the situation where the power supply is strictly required.

The online UPS is different from the backup UPS, and the power supply time is long, usually for several hours or even more than ten hours. Its main function is to allow you to work as usual in the case of blackout. Obviously, because of the particularity of its function, the price is also much more expensive. It is more suitable for the industries with strict power requirements such as computer, transportation, banking, securities, communication, medical treatment, industrial control and so on.

Online interactive UPS: This is an intelligent UPS, which means UPS inverters are in reverse operation (i.e. rectifier operation state), charging battery pack when normal power input. In the case of abnormal power supply, the inverter is turned to the state of inverter operation immediately, and the battery power is converted to the AC power output. Compared with the backup UPS, the online interactive UPS has strong protection function, and the output voltage waveform of the inverter is good, usually the sine wave. With strong software function, it is convenient to use the Internet to carry out remote control and intelligent management of UPS.

It can automatically monitor whether the external input voltage is in the normal range. If there is deviation, it can boost or step-down voltage regulator, providing a stable sine wave output voltage. And it can communicate with computers through data interface (such as RS-232 serial port). By monitoring software, users can directly monitor the power and UPS status from the computer screen, which is convenient for management and improves the reliability of computer system. This UPS concentrates on the advantages of the backup UPS and the high quality of online UPS power supply, but its frequency stabilization is not very ideal, and it is not suitable for long delay UPS power supply.
